Recipe of Battered Onion Rings

Hungry Jack’s onion ring recipe is as follows:

• Prepare the Batter: In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Gradually whisk in the cold sparkling water until the batter is smooth. For a richer batter, you can also add one beaten egg.
• Coat the onion rings: Separate the onion slices into individual rings. Dip each ring into the batter, making sure they are evenly coated.
• Fry the onion rings: Heat cooking oil in a deep frying pan or deep fryer over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully drop the battered onion rings into the oil, a few at a time. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
• Drain: Remove the onion rings from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
